Habitat for Humanity – Volunteers Needed!

Morris Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to step-up their involvement by becoming a site-supervisor, crew leader, or site host.  While construction experience is necessary for the first two positions, none is required to be a site host. The main criteria for all three positions are the desire to help build homes, willingness to interact with various people, and ability to show/work along side volunteers with varying levels of construction expertise.

A Site Supervisor oversees the day’s work at a site, while the Crew Leader works on a specific project with a small group of volunteers. A Site Host is the contact point for forms, questions, pictures, etc.  All help Morris Habitat give each construction volunteer a good building experience.

A nominal amount of training is required. There is a training workshop scheduled for:  Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 6:30-9pm at the Morris Habitat Offices, 102 Iron Mountain Road, Mine Hill, NJ

The training session will start with a tutorial on “framing” using the plans for Peer Place. Van Vander Does will lead the workshop which will run form 6:30-8pm. The supervisory training will cover the specifics on supervision, safety, etc. and will run from 8-9pm

If you are able to make this training session, please RSVP no later than October toloubonus@verizon.net.
